Well people, in a little while I will on my way to Blackpool for a little jolly, sorry, I meant to say a conference. So, which one of these photographs do you think Blackpool is more likely to resemble today? Mmmm………. tough eh? Actually I think I will only get chance to see the place out of the window of the hotel (The Hilton, no less) and the railway station. Shame really as I really want a ‘Kiss me quick’ hat to wear to work on Monday. Hee hee!.
Yes, it is complete, and I love it! I just hope that the lady that is going receive it loves it too. It should keep her very cosy in her wheelchair………. it certainly warmed me up sitting on my lap as I was making it. Actually, that could be an age thing! Now, I changed it from my original plan. Instead of stitching bobble trim around the edges I decided to crochet a picot edging, which I think does the job well and is probably a little more ‘robust’. So, there you go. More big news, my Debscupboard Facebook page seems to be increasing it’s likers by the minute. I am losing track of who I have thanked (stickler for good manners, you see!). What with that, and doing the demo-ing at Hobbycraft, and my next Stitch ‘n Bitch coming up, things are really taking off on the old crochet front….. whooohoooo! Better get back to it, time is money and all that! 🙂
Well people, I have only gone and joined Stampin’ up! Here is my Starter Pack. It took me a couple of weeks to finally sign up as I just couldn’t decide what to choose for my pack, so many beautiful items. I don’t always get on with stamping, it’s a bit of a fiddle fart tbh. But I’ll give it my best shot, and they have so many other products such as brads, and flowers and ribbon, and the paper is just glorious. So that’s all well and good, but now I have to find some willing, lovely people to have a Stampin’ Up party so that I can make some money. Anybody??????????? Pleeeaase??
It has been rather a fraught busy week again here, what with one thing and another. But hey ho, onwards and…….. onwards! I have bought this really pretty cowl pattern this week, online from ‘Frayed Knot’. Yet another fabulous website full of inspiration. I originally saw it on Pinterest, then someone who follows me on the site asked how much I would charge for making one. I liked the pattern so thought that I would buy it and try it, in the name of research, of course…..ahem! So I chose this lovely soft grey (it is flecked with several shades, maybe even 50!) and this rich red which has a soft sheen to it, for the flower. I have made a start and the pattern is fairly easy so far, so we’ll see how it goes. Whilst I was buying the wool I got chatting to the lady who was demo-ing there. Turns out that she is a Tewkesbury lady, and is a member of Tewkesbury Women In Business, as am I! Amazing how we haven’t met before. Anyway, long story short, she suggested that I talk to a member of staff in the shop, and I am now going to be demo-ing there in a few weeks time, and maybe doing some workshops. How pleased am I ? (Answer: Very!).
Here is one of my current WIP’s. Yes, I know I have lots on the go but I couldn’t resist starting this Christmassy cross-stitch shown in Decembers Cross Stitcher magazine. I love the blue, white and silver combination. I am hoping to get it finished by Christmas (this one, 2012, in case you were wondering!). In my little head I am convinced that it is a quick project, and as you can see, I have already stitched one little house (in two weeks……mmmmm!). Well, we’ll see, won’t we. So many beautiful things to make, so very little time!
Hello there. Well, another week almost done. A week of work (yay!), tidying up after boys (big and small!) and hospital visiting. Yes, my mum is still recovering in hospital (or lazing around being waited on, as I like to call it!). You know, I sometimes used to think that I would have liked to be a nurse. But as I potter around mum at the hospital I seem to transform…….. into a clod-hopping, fairy elephant! Poor mum, I try really hard to do nice things for her when I visit. Plump her pillows, pop a fluffy pair of socks on her cold tootsies, help her with her drink. Instead I catch her hair as I lift her head, trip over her bed tray and knock her magazines flying, pour coffee or squash down her face and front. I think it is some kind of peri-menopausal dyspraxia that becomes worse in medical environments (google it!). Mum, bless her, hasn’t complained about my over-enthusiastic clumsy care………. yet, But when she does, I will KNOW that she is feeling better!
